In a derby of the 16th Finals of the CEV Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup, the Greek side Olympiacos Piraeus swept French club Tours VB.

It was not an easy straight-set win for Olympiacos in the 1st leg of the 16th Finals, but any straight-set win against the reigning CEV Cup winners worths double. The Finnish international Mikko Oivanen topped the Greek side with 14 points while former Olympiacos player (2015/2016) Hermans Egleskalns from Latvia made 19 points for Tours.

Two big favorites to claim the trophy, Bunge Ravenna from Italy (Austrian Paul Buchegger scored 14 points) and Gazprom-Ugra Surgut from Russia (Bogdan Glivenko scored 20 points) were confident against their rivals, making a 3-0 win apiece.

The Czech representatives ČEZ Karlovarsko, for whom Filip Rejlek poured in 26 points (4 kill blocks), had to work hard to surpass Croatian Mladost Zagreb (Marko Sedlaček scored 29 points – 4 kill blocks) – 3-2.

Lausanne UC from Switzerland defeated their opponents, Stroitel Minsk from Belarus, in the same way. The Norwegian Jonas Kvalen highlighted Lausanne with 24 points while the Finnish Niklas Seppänen and Ilya Burau notched 12 pointe each for Stroitel

WCH 2018 W: The MVP award goes to Tijana Boskovic!

Re: @Logan Tom
Ni Yan is the best blocker in this competition. Her average block per set in the highest. And she scores more points than Anna Danesi. Ni Yan definitely is the 1st Middle Blocker in this competition. She deserved the title. Reply

I don't agree! The correct dream team would be:

MVP: Tijana Boskovic (SRB)

The Best Opposite: Paola Egonu (ITA)

The Best Setter: Maja Ognjenovic (SRB)

1st Outside Hitter: Brankica Mihajlovic (SRB)

2nd Outside Hitter: Zhu Ting (CHN)

1st Middle Blocker: Anna Danesi (CHN)

2nd Middle Blocker: Milena Rasic (SRB)

The Best Libero: Monica de Gennaro (ITA) Reply
