WCH 2018 W: Netherlands and Italy in a positive row

Italy and the Netherlands demolished their opponents in the first match of the second round at the FIVB 2018 World Championship.

In Pool E, the Netherlands stayed unbeaten. This time Yvon Belien and Lonneke Sloetjes with 12 points each led the Dutch team against Puerto Rico. The match was finished after three sets (25-16, 25-15, 25-20).

Daly Santana scored 11 points while Karina Ocasio finished the match with 10 points.

In Pool F, Italy left Azerbaijan without a solution. They finished the match after three sets (25-12, 25-19, 25-10) and scored the sixth victory from the beginning. Today Miriam Sylla led Italy with 17 points while captain Cristina Chirichella added 13 points including 5 blocks. On Azerbaijan’s side, Odina Aliyeva Bayramova was the best scorer of the team with 7 points.

DAY 1 – October 7:

Serbia – Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-15)

Brazil – Germany 2-3 (25-14, 25-19, 30-32, 19-25, 15-17)

Netherlands – Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-20)

Japan – Dominican Republic 10:20 (12:20 CET)

 

Pool F

DAY 1 – October 7:

Russia – Turkey 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-16)

USA – Bulgaria 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-11)

Italy – Azerbaijan 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-10)

China – Thailand 10:20 (12:20 CET)
