Egor Bogachev will continue his more than a successful adventure with the defending champions Berlin Recycling Volleys. A two-time German champion at the age of just 21, Bogachev decided to spent his fifth straight season with the club from the German capital. Last season, the Russian-born outside hitter converted every fifth serve in a direct point, to become No.1 in Bundesliga in served aces. Bogachev was engaged with Germany national team in the 2018 FIVB Nations League.

TV Rottenburg, who avoided relegation from Bundesliga as they claimed the penultimate position in the regular season standings (the last-placed Bergische Volleys moved to the lower rank), made several contract renewals for the next season. Hans Peter Müller-Angstenberger will remain the head coach of the club for the 17th season. Including the time when he was a professional player, he has spent 32 seasons in Rottenburg in total! A 23-year-old libero Johannes Elsässer enters his fifth consecutive season with the club. The middle blocker Friederich Nagel will play his sixth straight season, while prospect outside hitter Timon Schippmann enters his second straight season with Rottenburg. Also, an outside hitter Johannes Schief, who came to Rottenburg youth team in 2013 and got a chance to play for the main squad in 2015, has renewed. A 21-year-old setter Jannis Hopt (2.05m!), the product of VfB Friedrichshafen volleyball school, has signed the contract, coming from United Volleys Rhein-Main.

A 20-year-old middle blocker Paul Henning came to United Volleys Rhein-Main from TV Rottenburg. The Canadian expert Stelio DeRocco (father of Canada national team player Jason DeRocco) took over United Volleys instead of Michael Warm, coming from MKS Będzin, Poland. After playing in SVG Lüneburg for three seasons, a 23-year-old setter Adam Kocian strengthened United Volleys. A 23-year-old Georg Escher extended his deal with the club for another year as well as one of the most talented German players at the moment, a 17-year-old Louis Kunstmann.

Netzhoppers SolWo Königspark KW agreed to terms with former Germany national team player Dirk Westphal, who came from SWD powervolleys Düren after missing the most of the second part of the 2017/18 season due to a finger injury. Netzhoppers extended the contract with the Serbian-born head coach Mirko Čulić, who will lead the club for the 10th season in a row, and talented middle blocker Iven Ferch who was suffered a knee injury at the very beginning of the last season and never came back.

SWD powervolleys Düren engaged a 17-year-old opposite Rudy Schneider (TuB Bocholt, Division 2), U.S. setter Daniel Ford (Hurrikaani Loimaa, Finland), French outside hitter Florian Lacassie (GFC Ajaccio Volley-Ball, France), Chilean opposite Sebastián Gevert (Noliko Maaseik, Belgium), Canadian outside hitter Irvan Brar (only 1.86m tall but has a 3.5 m spike reach, University of British Columbia Thunderbirds), and Canadian libero Jordan Or (Cambrai Volley Elan du Cambrésis, Division 2, France). The club renewed with middle blockers Michael Andrei and Tim Broshog for two more years.
