Roeselare-vs-Lube
The Italian titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova scored and express win against Knack Roeselare from Belgium, 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-23), in Pool A.
The triumph would have been more important for Roeselare than to Lube as Italian side secured Playoffs 12 spot earlier and Belgians did not. Even the stands packed with their crowd at Schiervelde gymnasium (2,100 spectators) did not help Roeselare to avoid the sweep. Roeselare players were closest to claiming the set in the third set but allowed a four-point lead (8-4) slip out of their hands.
The Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov delivered 13 points for Lube. Matthijs Verhanneman scored 13 points for Roeselare.
Spacer’s Toulouse VB from France annulled a 2-0 lead of the Polish rivals Jastrzębski Węgiel but succumbed in the tie-break to remain winless in Pool D.
The Canadian Jason DeRocco led Jastrzębski with 19 points, while German Lukas Kampa served 4 aces (5 points) and Wojciech Sobala made 82% attack (9/11, 12 points). In Toulouse, Luka Bašić scored 19 points. Barthélémy Chinenyeze contributed with 6 kill blocks and 78% attack (7/9, 15 points).
