FRIENDLIES M: Skra win Bydgoszcz tournament, Padova down the Thunders in spite of Edgar’s huge display

The Polish Men’s volleyball giants PGE Skra Bełchatów achieved the third win in the pre-season and won a tournament in their home country.

In the finals of the „Cup of the Mayor of the City of Bydgoszcz“, Skra defeated the home side and also a PlusLiga rivals Łuczniczka Bydgoszcz by a 3-0 (25-18, 28-26, 30-28). Bartosz Bednorz stood out in Skra with 20 points. Bartosz Filipiak scored 17 for Bydgoszcz.

 

The Italian Serie A1 team Kioene Padova outplayed Japanese V-League side JT Thunders Hiroshima in a test match held within its premises by a 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 15-11). Even 30 points from Australian opposite Thomas Edgar didn’t help the Thunders. Serbian receiver Lazar Ćirović topped Padova with 16 points.

The Serbian champions Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad beat Bulgarian club Dobrudja 07 Dobrich as visitors by a 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-11, 25-18). The hosts won a bonus set that was played in a tie-break format by a 17-15.
