At their first ever participation at FIVB World League, Estonia became the winners of Group 3 after straight-sets triumph over Spain at the decisive match (25-22, 25-16, 25-21).

With five stuff blocks and a total of 14 points, Ardo Kreek was the brightest of a group of stars that showed Estonia the way to the first place while opposite Oliver Venno fired three aces and completed a full score of 12 points.

As for Spain, Andres J. Villena Rodriguez completed 13 spikes, leading the charts of a team that just couldn’t handle the high offensive force of their rival.

Captain Kert Toobal said after the match: “Our teamwork was the key. We played a clever game, using our heads and keeping the ball in play.” And he completed: “This is a big day for Estonian volleyball.

The winners of Group 3 final will advance to Group 2 for the next year’s edition of the FIVB World League.
