Venues for 2018 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan revealed

A month and a half after announcing the venues for the 2018 Men’s World Championship, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) did the same with the Women’s tournament.

The FIVB published on its website that six cities will host the 2018 Women’s World Championship in Japan, from September 29 to October 20: Yokohama, Sapporo, Kobe, Hamamatsu, Nagoya and Osaka.

The group stage (four pool of six teams, single round-robin tournament) from September 29 to October 4 will be played in these venues: Pool A in Yokohama Arena – Yokohama, Pool B in Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center – Sapporo, Pool C in Kobe Green Arena – Kobe, and Pool D in Hamamatsu Arena – Hamamatsu.

The second round (two pools of eight teams) will be played from October 7 to October 11 in these two venues: Nippon Gaishi Hall – Nagoya and Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium – Osaka.

The third round (two pools of three teams) is scheduled from October 14 to October 16 in Nippon Gaishi Hall – Nagoya while the semifinals on October 19 and finals on October 20 will be played in Yokohama Arena – Yokohama.

Recall which venues will host the Men’s tournament which will set off from September 10 to September 30.
