French city of Lille chosen to host Final Six of inaugural Men’s Volleyball Nations League

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced the host venue of the final tournament of an inaugural 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League, which will be held from July 4th to July 8th.

 

The city of Lille, France, and its multi-purpose venue Stade Pierre Mauroy are chosen to host the first-ever final tournament of the Volleyball Nations League, who succeeded World League, to which six best teams from the pool stage will advance. This means that France national team, the reigning World League titleholders, earned an automatic berth for the Final Six.

Stade Pierre Mauroy is the home of the Lille OSC football club and has the capacity of 50,186 spectators, but only for football matches. As for indoor competitions, when retractable roof covers the venue, it’s maximum capacity is 28,010.
