Belogorie-Belgorod
The Romanian expert Gheorghe Creţu debuted as the head coach of Belogorie after recently arriving in the club to reinforce the staff as an assistant. But, he got a chance to lead Belogorie in the match against Zenit Sankt Peterburg from the bench which turned to be a good decision of Gennadiy Shipulin as Belgorod team prevailed by a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19).
Konstantin Bakun topped a 9-man squad of Belogorie with 23 points. The Cuban Oreol Camejo was the best scorer in Zenit with 16 points. Thus, the Superliga debutants suffered their first defeat in the tournament.
