U.S. pro volleyball got itself the first Men's national champions

Blizzard Volleyball from Lake Forest, California, won the first-ever professional Men’s volleyball title in the USA.


Blizzard finished a three-day showcase, organized by the National Volleyball Association (NVA), as the champions. In the finals at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, the team coached by Jon Xie and Vince Rodriguez beat Academy United from San Franciso, California, in straight sets - 27-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Blizzard included three former U.S. Men’s National Team stars on their roster – Holmes, Lotman, and Lee, which made them favorites of eight teams in the inaugural national tournament of the professional indoor volleyball league. Blizzard middle blocker Ryan Meehan was named MVP of the finals.

Recall which U.S. and foreign big names took part in the tournament.

The NVA already scheduled three more tournaments for 2018 to promote the next season’s league which should feature many more players from around the world, including all the best U.S. players:
