Italian Women’s volleyball powerhouse Imoco Volley Conegliano, 2017 CEV Champions League runners-up, completed the setter department by signing Greek international.

Athina Papafotiou, a 27-year-old French champion with ASPTT Mulhouse, changed direction in the last moment and joined Imoco instead of Foppapedretti Bergamo, as some media reported yesterday.

Thus, Papafotiou will make a setter duo of Imoco with another newcomer to the club, Polish Joanna Wołosz (Chemik Police).

Previously, Imoco hired American receivers Kim Hill (VakıfBank İstanbul) and Megan Easy (Henan), Croatian opposite Samanta Fabris (Pomì Casalmaggiore) and middle blocker Laura Melandri (Il Bisonte Firenze).

They renewed with Mexican receiver Samantha Bricio, another receiver Elisa Cella and middle blockers Raphaela Folie and Anna Danesi, while Daniele Santarelli has been promoted to the head coach after being Davide Mazzanti’s assistant last season.

Beat of 7 to 15 and 8 subs per set is means half the team never sees the net and half only serves once per set. Going backwards in specializing the positions. I like the idea of subbing witthout stopping the game and no technical timeouts. Reply
