#RoadToTokyo W: Brayelin – De la Cruz duo carries Dominicans to win over Canada, Puerto Rico sweep Mexico

The hosts Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico improved to a 2-0 record each in the 2020 NORCECA Women’s Volleyball Olympic Qualifier in Santo Domingo.

The outstanding offensive performance by the duo Brayelin Martínez and Bethania De la Cruz, who scored 26 and 24 points respectively, carried Dominican Republic to a 3-1 (25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 25-14) win in Round 2 of the NORCECA Women’s Olympic Qualifier. Alexa Gray was the top scorer in Canada, who said goodbye to the Tokyo Games, with 17 points.

The Dominican Republic will fight Puerto Rico (swept Mexico by a 3-0) for a berth in the Summer Games in the Japanese capital in the last round.
