#RoadToTokyo W: Korea sweep Indonesia for umpteenth time, Kazakhstan and Thailand confident

The South Korea Women’s Volleyball National Team made the first step towards advancing to the Tokyo Olympics.

 

At the start of the 2020 Asian Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournament in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand), South Korea defeated Indonesia by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-9) in Pool B. Korea maintained the absolute domination in mutual encounters against Indonesia, not giving away a single set in seven successive confrontations against them. Korea overwhelmed their opponents with 13-1 in the aces and 9-0 in the blocking. Kim Yeong-Koung top-scored for Korea with 12 points (4 aces) even though she played only the first 2 sets.

In the same pool, Kazakhstan got off to a perfect start to claim the victory over Iran in straight sets.

In Pool A, the hosts Thailand breezed past Chinese Taipei in a comfortable 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-16) win.
