Funvic Taubate have won its fifth consecutive Paulista championship crown.

In the finals, they were better than SESI SP in a two-game clash. After taking the 3-2 win in the first game, they lost the second game 3-1 but won the Golden set 25-20, closing the series and winning the fifth consecutive title.

This game was amazing, especially the fourth set, where the fans saw 80 points! After that set, everyone thought that Taubate lost the confidence, however, they played even better in the golden set. This part of the game lasted almost 50 minutes.

The head coach of Taubate Daniel Castellani said:

We started very nervously and that made things very difficult. However, we raised at the right time and we got another good result.”

Rubinho, Sesi SP coach, confirmed that his team started the Golden Set badly:

We had to race back the whole time, that was the problem. We pulled but could not keep up. They played the Golden set very well, we made more mistakes…”

Paulista Championship, finals:

Funvic Taubate – Sesi SP 3-2

Sesi Sp – Taubate 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 41-39); GOLDEN SET: 20-25

CEV awards unprecedented prize money for 2019 Champions League winners

Re: @Youshen
Probably because the final consisted of only two teams, so a dream team wouldn't really be representative of the champions league and a bit unnecessary, but that's just my opinion :) Reply
