Dentil/Praia Clube beat Osasco/Audax in the big match, bidding farewell to the Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship in 2019.


The vice-champions Praia made a 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-13, 25-17) win on the road against Osasco in the 9th round of the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season to finish the year in a stylish manner. In an inspired night of American Nicole Fawcett (22 points) and Priscila Daroit “Pri Daroit” (9 aces!), the team from the Minas Gerais state reached 21 points (7-1) to come in third place in the charts, skipping today’s rivals who left the top 4. Osasco have 7-2 and 18 points in fifth place. Jaqueline Endres top-scored for the losing side with 12 points.

The champions Itambé/Minas survived the away match against Sesi Vôlei Bauru (3-2) to maintain their invincibility in the competition (8-0; 22 points) but still have four points less than the leaders Sesc RJ. Bauru recorded third successive defeat and claim the fourth position with 5-6 and 19 points.

Well Sports Fans, the reality is that Italy won't be alone and you can bet more Federations will do the same as this worlwide pandemic evolves. Summer sports for all will not be happening and I can forsee European Leagues holding off until late October and November. Budgets for all clubs and federations are in a holding pattern until we get a better grip on this virus. Its actually a smart decision by the Italians.
