CL M: Berlin victorious at the start of the Champions League

Berlin Recycling Volleys won their first match in the 2019 edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League.

 

In a Pool D, Berlin Recycling Volleys defeated Greenyard Maaseik in four sets, 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-18.

Jolan Cox from Greenyard Maaseik was the top scorer of the match with 18 points, Kyle Russell scored 14 points for Berlin Recycling Volleys.

Cedric Enard, Berlin Recycling Volleys: “We were mentally strong today. We fought very well and our reception was stable. We played as a team, and that’s what I wanted. It was good.”

Jay Blankenau, Greenyard Maaseik: “It is a little bit disappointing. We would have liked to see the game go to five and then really battle it out. Overall, I would not pick out some specific skill, which made the difference.”
