Imoco Volley Conegliano repeated an impressive display from the first leg of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women semifinals against Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul and are through to the first-ever Super Finals.

The Italian side Imoco outshined Fenerbahçe for the second time in one week to advance to their second-ever Champions League final (the first one was in 2017), but the first-ever final under the new format of the tournament.

The “Panthers“ achieved another straight-set victory against the Turkish Fenerbahçe, this time on the road, partially 25-18, 25-22, 28-26. Imoco cleared their path to the Super Finals in Berlin on May 18 after winning the second set in which they set up as much as eight kill blocks (13 overall)! The third set was played only for the sake of prestige but Imoco still managed to claim it.

The Croatian opposite hitter Samanta Fabris top-scored for Imoco with 17 points while Anna Danesi made six kill blocks. Mexican Samantha Bricio noted 15 points for the “Yellow Angels“. Eda Erdem Dündar set up five kill blocks.

In the Super Finals, Imoco might face another Italian team in case Igor Gorgonzola Novara eliminate VakıfBank İstanbul tomorrow. And they are close to doing so!

TUR W: VakıfBank’s hellish plan – Bartsch to come in January, Egonu in summer!

So Ebrar out and Haak will be replaced ? I suppose Ezcacibasi will respond, Kim is definately not in her league, i think Tijana need some partner, and Natalia is not the one. I still cant see Egonu moving from Italian league to Turkey, that must be some great payment to do so. Otherwise, i would like to see Brakocevic & Tijana in same club, no other option to respond to Vakif. Unless Natalia and Kim will push their game. Maybe Tijana should go to Novara, her season if nulled with this team. Reply

Re: @Anon - Zhu Ting is not gonna go anywhere till Olympic is over. Wrist injury gonna take sometime to heal and recover. Hopefully She will fully fit before Olympic. Otherwise defending the title is almost impossible for China without Zhu Ting.

If Zhu Ting is still hurt or injured during the tournament, the coach can use her as a middle blocker. I feel she is the best blocker on the team. She has great instincts of where the hitter will hit to, she is tall and her hang time is very good. She is one of the more effective blockers against Egonu.

Thailand win title in Women’s Volleyball at SEA Games for 12th successive time

The different in strength and overall qualities of the team between Thai and the rest are just too great . Thai can still win even with their reserve members. Reply
