The idea of the European Volleyball Confederation to create the 2019 Champions League Super Finals was completed by the joint title ceremony for the Women’s and Men’s winners.

More than 9,000 spectators at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany, witnessed the joint title ceremony of Women’s and Men’s winners, which was another novelty of the CEV when it comes to the 2019 Champions League.

Of course, the biggest novelty was to eliminate Final Four and bring back long forgotten two-game semifinals. This was crowned with lifting the trophy at the same time by the players of the Women’s winners Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Men’s winners Cucine Lube Civitanova, both from Italy.

A truly historical moment for the European club volleyball!

Re: @Sorin Acela I agree. The Final game should be a personal celebration of the team, the top of the season and look! 2 teams at the same time. This show was not organized for the teams, but for the politicians...

I was there, i saw the entire thing...... and u guys didnt understand a thing..... the point was the unity and the equal rights both for men and women..... the women finals was always first then the men...... now tokyo olympics announce that they will change that for the first time in a olympic games putting the women final game, one day before the games are over..... and this time both squad receive also the same paycheck amount and etc...... The finals werent bad organized...... what is bad organized is the brains of people that doesnt understand what equality means.

Re: @I dont Care what u say
We don't talk about equality, we talk about the event and the organization. In November last year the CEV prepared calendar for 2 weekends and 2 tournaments, one weekend for women, and after next weekend for men. Than in January they moved both games in one weekend, and lately they put both games in one day. Why they didn't think about gender equality from the same beginning? Nobody wanted to organize this event because there is no interest. Yes, the event looked nice, but compare it with Basketball and Handball. Just look some images from Women Handball Champions League Finals in Budapest a few weeks ago and you will understand

Re: @Axe please don't give false statements which are not correct, especially about issuing the calendar in November and January. Referring to your critical point about the organization and event, remind yourself and watch the photos how it looked last year women F4 in Bucharest and compare to this one. - Great 'Personal' celebration!
