CL M: Modena prevail over Kuzbass, Warszawa sweep hosts Roeselare

Leo Shoes Modena and Verva Warszawa Orlen Paliwa opened the competition in Pool D of the 2021 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League in a winning manner.


Italy’s Leo Shoes Modena overcame Russia’s Kuzbass Kemerovo in Round 1 of Pool D of the 2021 Men’s Champions League, organized in Roeselare (Belgium), in four sets. It was quite an exciting duel that was resolved after six match points in the fourth set. Partially, it was 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 30-28.

Daniele Lavia top-scored the SuperLega side with 13 points, while Daniele Mazzone made 4 blocks. Italian Ivan Zaytsev stood out in Kuzbass against his former team with 23 points. Inal Tavasiev set up 4 blocks.

In the other encounter in this pool, Verva Warszawa Orlen Paliwa easily prevailed over the hosts Knack Roeselare (3-0) mostly thanks to Artur Szalpuk (15 points).
