Serbian Volleyball Federation protested against Kosovo acceptance into International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

 

At the 37th CEV (European Volleyball Confederation) General Assembly in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, Vice President of Serbian Volleyball Federation, Vladimir Grbić, expressed firm attitude on this matter by his federation after it was confirmed that CEV increased its membership to 56 federations according to FIVB’s decision from more than a month ago to include Kosovo.

“It is my duty as representative of Volleyball Federation of Serbia to inform you about standpoint of Serbian Government which is against acceptance of so-called Republic of Kosovo**. According to this, Volleyball Federation of Serbia is against acceptance of Volleyball Federation of so-called Kosovo as a full member of FIVB,” Serbian volleyball legend Grbić addressed to CEV President Aleksandar Boričić, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° and CEV delegates referring to United Nations Resolution on Kosovo.

 

** Kosovo is partially recognised state by the United Nations settled in Southeast Europe that declared independence from Serbia in 2008. It is not recognized by Serbia.
