WCH 2018 M: Japan easily outplay Dominican Republic

The Japanese players got over the loss at the World Championship opening game vs. Italy.

 

They have scored an important victory in Pool A, beating Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-16). With this win, they have stayed in the race for the next round.

Yuki Ishikawa, who has been playing in Italy over the past three years, was the best scorer of the game with 18 points, while Masahiro Yanagida added 12 points. 

In the Dominican Republic, Henry Antonio Lopez Capellan had the best scoring performance - 14 points.

POOL A, second round results:

Dominican Republic – Japan 0-3 (20-25, 20-25, 16-25)

13 Sep  21:15     Italy – Belgium

14 Sep  17:00     Japan – Slovenia

First round results:

Italy - Japan 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-23)

Dominican Republic - Slovenia 1-3 (25-22, 13-25, 13-25, 17-25)

Belgium - Argentina 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20)

Point is Leon has no connection with Poland, has never played there for any club... His agents first offered him to Russia, and their federation said 'no, thanks', then they went to Poland that was desperate to find a world-class player. A wedding was arranged, and voilá! Reply
