The French Volleyball Federation (FFVolley) has decided to cancel the 2020/21 men’s Cup.

Having in mind difficulties encountered in playing matches at the very start of the 2020/21 men’s Championship and the request of the majority of clubs competing in the Ligue A Masculine, the FFVolley has decided to cancel the men’s Cup (Coupe de France professionnelle masculine) for this season.

The governing body of volleyball in France explained making this choice due to too many postponed games of the league (for coronavirus related problems) and uncertainties of playing at all. Thus, FFVolley gave priority to the French Championship and it wants to adjust the schedule for the postponed matches to complete the season. For women, such a decision wasn’t taken yet because the women’s championship has a more loosen calendar given there will be no playoffs.

Recall that the attempt of organizing the final tournament for the Cup valid for the last season has failed.
