OQT M: Italy will play Qualifier with 3 liberos

Gianlorenzo Blengini has annpunced the roster that will represent Italy Men’s national team in the upcoming FIVB Volleyball International Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (August 9-11).

 

Blengini made an interesting list as he put as much as 3 liberos on it and decided to play the Qualifier with only 3 middle blockers. The middle blocker Alberto Polo has been crossed out from the preliminary list.

Italy will play Serbia, Australia and Cameroon in Pool C, at home in Bari.

The 14-man roster of Italy:

Setters: Simone Giannelli, Riccardo Sbertoli

Middle blockers: Simone Anzani, Matteo Piano, Roberto Russo

Outside hitters: Oleg Antonov, Filippo Lanza, Osmany Juantorena, Daniele Lavia

Opposite hitters: Gabriele Nelli, Ivan Zaytsev (captain)

Liberos: Fabio Balaso, Massimo Colaci, Nicola Pesaresi
