The Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship runners-up Igor Gorgonzola Novara announced that their head coach Massimo Barbolini underwent heart surgery.

The head coach of European champions Novara, Barbolini, has undergone a routine surgery of cardiac ablation. The intervention, which was successful, will lead to a few days of complete rest for the expert.

Thus, Barbolini won’t take part in the Serie A match against Imoco Volley Conegliano, tomorrow night. The assistant coach Davide Baraldi will temporarily replace Barbolini on the bench of Novara.
