Lube faced true resistance of Verona only in the first set before collecting a maximum of three points at the end of, what was supposed to be, an intense match of Round 5 of the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season: 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 19-25). Osmany Juantoreana led the champions with 20 points. As for Verona, who underperformed in the attack as a team (40%). American Garrett Muagututia made 10 points. Lube are at the top of the charts with 6-0.

Leo Shoes Modena continued their winning ride and recorded the 5th straight-set success in as many games! At home, Modena defeated Top Volley Latina, only having to work hard in the third set: 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 28-26). American Matthew Anderson top-scored for the winning side with 15 points (4 aces), while the Pole Bartosz Bednorz made 81% reception (16 digs, 63% perfect). The Dutchman Maarten van Garderen scored 12 points for Latina.

One more team kept the unbeaten record. Itas Trentino are at 5-0 after they outplayed big rivals Gas Sales Piacenza in four sets. A duel between these two sides is the SuperLega classic, knowing that they faced each other for the title on three occasions in the 2000s. Luca Vettori was Trentino’s most prolific player with 21 points. Dick Kooy scored 14 points for Piacenza.

POL M: Young Australian coach Reynolds will command Jastrzębski next season

Many Strength and Conditioning Coaches/Scoutman are trying to get into coaching. Due to their lack of experience and knowledge, at first, they take a major pay cut in comparison to actual volleyball coaches. Currently, coaching jobs are paying very little, even in the top leagues, and some of the experienced coaches are not taking jobs for 25.000-40.000 EUR, knowing that demands are just as high as before when they were making double of this salary. Unfortunately, club leaderships see coaches as a disposable matter and therefore keep dropping salaries because there are candidates that will take these jobs. I am not here to judge, just to describe some of the dynamics around this profession. Reply

POL M: Young Australian coach Reynolds will command Jastrzębski next season

Interesting trend, that some coaches who specialised on physical training, some who never played volleyball on top level, became pretty successful volleyball coaches. It can be observed in some menś and women teams. It reflects a situation that volleyball has become a very physical sport. Even the world champion country, which in past had taught others, needs coaches from abroad who come into this category. Reply
