Vero Volley Monza took down another big scalp in the 2020/21 Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship.

After downing Leo Shoes Modena in the opening round of the 2020/21 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season, Vero Volley Monza took down another big scalp – of Itas Trentino. In Round 7, they beat the team coached by Angelo Lorenzetti in the tie-break.

Monza recovered from 1-2 and inflicted the fourth defeat to Trentino, who started the season with the title ambitions but are now in eighth place in the charts. The performances of the Turkish opposite hitter Adis Lagumdzija (23 points) and Czech international Donovan Džavoronok (5 blocks) highlighted the winning side. As for Trentino, the Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz scored 32 points, including 6 aces.

The leaders Sir Safety Conad Perugia dismissed Consar Ravenna with a quick 3-0 and remained undefeated (7-0).

In the big match between second and third on the table, Cucine Lube Civitanova (Osmany Juantorena 15 points, Fabio Balaso 75 % reception) defeated Allianz Milano in straight sets to reach 7-0.

NBV Verona defeated Top Volley Cisterna in the tie-break to end their own three-game losing streak.

Leo Shoes Modena beat Kioene Padova by 3-1 and rose to fourth place.
