Perugia returned home with 3 important points in their fight for the top spot in the 2020/21 Italian Men’s SuperLega Credem Banca regular season ahead of a direct duel for that goal against Cucine Lube Civitanova, next weekend. The players coached by Vital Heynen surpassed Modena in Round 20 in 4 sets. Partially, it was 23-25, 25-21, 25-18, and 25-21. Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León notched 27 points on the winning side.

As for Lube, they swept Top Volley Cisterna, recording the 7th win in a row in the competition. Osmany Juantorean scored 16 points, while Cuban Robertlandy Simón set up 4 blocks.

Achieving the 15th successive win (12th successive win in the league), Itas Trentino secured, at least, 3rd place for the playoffs, having chances to even reach the No.2 depending on Lube’s results in the last two rounds. Led by Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz (15 points, including 6 aces), Serbian Marko Podraščanin (4 blocks), and Brazilian Ricardo Lucarelli (78 % reception, 18 digs, 39 % perfect), Angelo Lorenzetti’s team swept Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia in a direct duel for 3rd place.
