The International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) canceled this year’s induction ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The IVHF “made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Hall of Fame Induction Celebration due to safety concerns for the international event that takes place at venues in Holyoke and throughout Western Massachusetts,” it was posted on the website of the US-based institution that honors extraordinary achievements in volleyball.

This will be only the second time since the first induction (1985) that the annual celebration won’t be held. Instead of the Class of 2020, the IVHF will recognize the next class of inductees, in the fall of 2021.
