Coronavirus shows up among HAOK Mladost players – they have to be quarantined for 14 days

Shocking news coming from Croatia – two players of the men’s team HAOK Mladost have been tested positive on COVID 19 coronavirus.

The main problem now is that HAOK Mladost can’t compete in the first qualifying round of the CEV Champions League against Erzeni.

According to the rules of CEV, we had to be tested on COVID 19. All of us, players and staff. To compete at the qualifying tournament, we had to deliver all negative tests on COVID 19. On Sunday we had been tested and the first 17 results showed negative tests, however, the last two showed that they are positive on coronavirus, which was a shocking moment for us since there were no symptoms,” explains the sports director of the team Darko Antunovic.

There is a hope for the women’s team to play their game against Calcit Kamnik in the CEV Champions League qualifying round, but all tests have to be negative.

This is a huge problem for all teams all over the world. If the virus shows up, they have to stop volleyball activities and that’s something that can destroy the plans of the teams for the season 2020/2021.

USA M: Russell undergoes surgery in US, will miss Tokyo Olympics

Russell had one of the best sports surgeons in the world work on him so I expect he will be in great hands. While devastating for any athlete Russell is young enough to have both Paris and Los Angeles in his Olympic future at very high level.
Piacenza is building something very special there and Russell is a perfect type of player and professional to attract others to come there and build around.
Wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Reply
