LV Sport Pénzügyőr SE wrote down their name in the all-time list of the titleholders in the Hungarian Men’s Volleyball Championship.

The regular-season winners LV Sport Pénzügyőr SE prevailed over 2nd-seed Fino Kaposvár in the 4th match of the 2020/21 Hungarian Men’s Extraliga playoff finals and won the championship title.

The team from the country’s capital won the first two matches of the series without losing a set, has fallen in Game 3 at home, but took care of eliminating drama by taking the 4th game: 3-1 (26-28, 26-24, 25-19, 27-25). Zoltán Kovács highlighted Pénzügyőr today with 25 points, which he scored through 71 % attack (25/35). Brazilian Pedro Santos ‘Pedrão’, who was the second-best scorer of the winning side with 17 points, had a 79 % attack (15/19). Another Brazilian stood out in Pénzügyőr - Bruno Feliciano Jorge ‘Bruninho’ – who had 76 % reception (21 digs, 4 errors, 38 % perfect). Russian Vitaliy Melnikov tallied 17 points, including 4 aces, for Kaposvár. Gábor Bögöly made 76 % reception (38 digs, 2 errors, 39 % perfect).

This is the first championship title in the history of the Budapest club and the third trophy which they put in its showcase as it already won two Hungarian Cups earlier.

TUR W: Thai star Ajcharaporn continues career in Turkey

Re: @Nobody Cares She's 26 and her dream to come play in Europe stopped in a 12-placed team??? Ajcharaporn could have had many other better choices, even to play in a European Cup in a Romanian team. Her agency is so incompetent! Now she'll play against relegation :( So sad!
