Arkas-vs-Galatasaray

The dream season of Galatasaray HDI Sigorta continued as they beat Arkas Spor on the road in the fifth round of the 2019/20 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi regular season and remained unbeaten side (5-0). The Istanbul team emerged victoriously from a marathon match: 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 18-25, 15-9). Estonian Oliver Venno led Galatasaray’s scorers with 24 points. Adis Lagumdžija put down one point less than Venno but for Arkas.

Ziraat Bankası beat Tokat Belediye Plevne by a 3-0 and took advantage of the fact that Galatasaray dropped one point to level with them in the standings. Both sides now have 5-0 and 14 points, even the same set-ratio (15-2) but Galatasaray have a better point-ratio compared to Ziraat and hence occupy the top spot.
