TUR W: Eczacıbaşı still isolated at top, Nilüfer come in 2nd in charts

Eczacıbaşı VitrA and Nilüfer Bld. recorded wins in the only two matches of Round 8 of the 2020/21 Turkish women’s volleyball Championship scheduled for today.

Eczacıbaşı VitrA noted fifth successive win in the 2020/21 Misli.com Sultanlar Ligi regular season and remained isolated at the top of the charts.

The “Tigers” struggled with Karayolları, with the exception of the fourth set, in Round 8 but prevailed by a 3-1, partially 25-18, 21-25, 26-24, and 25-10. Serbian Tijana Bošković top-scored Eczacıbaşı with 24 points, while Yasemin Güveli made 4 blocks. American Jordan Thompson had an 83 % attack, while Simge Şebnem Aköz made 78 % reception (67 % perfect). Tutku Burcu Yüzgenç tallied 18 points for Karayolları.

Nilüfer Bld. (American Willow Johnson 16 points) swept Çan Gençlik Kale Spor to get from the fifth place in the table to the second.
