TUR M: Afyon shock Halkbank, Galatasaray end Arkas’ 7-game winning streak

Halkbank suffered a third defeat in the last five games of the 2020/21 Turkish Men’s Volleyball Championship. The last of these came in Round 16.

Afyon Bld. Yüntaş took advantage of a drop in form of Halkbank and inflicted them a third defeat in the last five games of the 2020/21 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi regular season. At the same time, the club from Afyonkarahisar has finally ended its own huge losing streak of seven games.

Cansın Ogbai Enaboifo highlighted Afyon with 29 points (4 blocks). Argentine Cristián Poglajen added 4 blocks, while as a team, Afyon made 17 blocks.

Galatasaray HDI Sigorta earned three points from a match against Arkas Spor, which was their fourth successive victory by which they took second place in the charts and squeezed Halkbank out to fourth place. As for Arkas, they were squeezed out to third place and lost a game after seven wins in a row.
