No.2 Arkas Spor tied the Turkish men’s volleyball championship 2017-2018 Efeler Ligi playoff finals against No.1 Halkbank at 1-1.

Arkas players knew their chances of winning the 2017-2018 Efeler Ligi would be slim to none in case of losing Game 2 of the playoff finals against Halkbank as well. So, they did their best to win it, and made it despite allowing their rivals to recover from two sets down, 3-2 (30-28, 26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 15-8).

Adis Lagumdžija poured in 26 points (2 aces, 3 kill blocks) for Arkas. Mert Matić contributed with 4 kill blocks and 75% attack (9/12). The Serbian Nemanja Petrić and Cuban Fernando Hernández scored 21 points apiece for Halkbank.

Game 3 of the best-of-five playoff finals will be played on April 7.

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

Organisation of OG Qualification in Poland reminds me WCh2014 as far as a timetable, referees.. It is enough to compare all schedules of home NT with other qualification groups.. Poland NT is probably currently the strongest NT in men volleyball in the world, and it does not need any such a trick... Of course, it indicates also the role of FIVB, which is orientated mainly on a profit... Reply

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

um...did he protest as loudly during Italian tournaments in the past? really, if Poland was playing this tournament in France, we would have as unreasonable schedule as they had and, we too, would complain, but what does it matter? FIVB accepted the schedule, so Ngapeth can only blame his own federation for not fighting for this tournament's organization rights more. Reply
