Velasco presented a roster of 30 players of which some have already started to work at a training center in Buenos Aires.
The major surprise is that there is no name of superstar Facundo Conte on the list! In an agreement with Velasco, Shanghai receiver decided to take one-year break from playing in the national team in order to recover both physically and mentally for the 2018 FIVB World Championship and preparations for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
As Argentinean VF website informed, under the same logic, Velasco offered to rest the captain Luciano De Cecco, who is another player with large number of caps in last 10 seasons, without interruptions. However, Sir Safety Perugia setter has chosen to be the part of the national team this season.
