RIO 2016 M: MVP award goes to Serginho!

Sérgio Dutra Santos ’Serginho’ retired from the Brazil National Team in the best possible way – with a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and MVP award!

Serginho became part of a privileged group of Brazilian athteles which took gold medal at the Olympic Games two times – 2004 and 2016.

Besides these two, legendary 40-year-old libero has won 12 more gold medals in the yellow jersey of Brazil, 21 medals overall.

He announced after Rio finals against Italy he will play professionally for two more years.

Dream Team of Rio Olympics was also announced and looks like this:

Opposite: Wallace Souza (BRA)

Middle blockers: Emanuele Birarelli (ITA) and Artem Volvich (RUS)

Receivers/outside hitters: Ricardo Lucareli (BRA) and Aaron Russell (USA)

Libero: Sérgio Santos (BRA)

Setter: Bruno Rezende (BRA)
