More innovations in 2017: FIVB testing new rules regarding serve and back-row attack!

Volleyball serve

After deciding to try out a revolutionary rule of the games playing to best-of-seven sets (up to 15 points each) and rule of eliminating restricted areas for coaches both in the upcoming Men’s and Women’s U23 World Championships, the FIVB will implement two more new regulations at these two tournaments, according to volleyball.it.

New rule No.1 concerns jumping serve: A player that makes this kind of serve must land before the service line after hitting the ball.

New rule No.2 concerns back-row attack: A player performing this kind of attack must land before the 3-meter line after hitting the ball.

Just like in the case of other new rules this year, these two might also come to life in senior competitions by the end of 2017. So, do you like them?
