In the 2017 CEV European Championship in Poland, the “Team Yavbou” disappointed its fans by being eliminated in the Playoffs (the 8th Finals) to the Czech Republic and losing the chance to defend the trophy.
Still, France’s head coach Laurent Tillie made only one change in the roster for the Grand Champions Cup (September 12 – 17) compared to the one that competed in EuroVolley.
“I will take 12 players: the same players that played the European Championship, without Earvin Ngapeth, who still has to look after his back, and Kévin Le Roux, who needs to recharge before competing in a big and physically challenging Championship, such as the Russian (with Dinamo Moscow),” coach Tillie said.
