Trentino – Modena
Modena have 2-0 lead in series against reigning champions Trentino. The Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth was UNSTOPPABLE, demolishing title holders with 30 points and having the honor to finish tonight’s spectacle in „PalaTrento“ with a superb pipe 3-2 (21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12). Ngapeth was excellent in all segments of a play (reception 64%, attack 57%) leading Modena close to eliminating opponents from playoffs. The Bulgarian Matey Kaziyski had 20 points in Trentino.
Maybe some fans in Italy considered Sir Safety Conad Perugia’s win over Cucine Lube Banca Marche Civitanova in Game 1 as accidental, but Slobodan Kovač’s side totally demolishing rivals in Game 2, 3-0 (30-28, 25-20, 25-14)!
By showing the best performance of the season, Perugia went ahead 2-0 in the series, allowing the team coached by Gianlorenzo Blengini to remain in the game only in the first set. The cheering of a 4,000 fans at „PalaEvangelisti“ has done the rest. Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević stopped at 12 points in the winning team. Slovenian Klemen Čebulj noted 11 in Lube.
April 21 is the date of Game 3 in both semis…
