In Pool A the Dominican Republic defeated Costa Rica in straight sets (25-14, 35-10, 25-16) thanks to Gina Mambru who was the only player in the match who reached double digits with 11 points while Bethania De La Cruz added 9 points in the victory. Tannia Carazo scored 9 points as the best for Costa Rica.
Canada outplayed Peru also in three sets (25-21, 25-12, 25-17) and Van Ryk finished with 18 points as the best scorer of the match including with 8 aces while Karla Ortiz Oyola finished with 9 points as the top Peruvian offensive player.
In Pool B Puerto Rico defeated Cuba with 25-13, 25-22, 25-23 with 11-4 score in the aces category.Pilar Marie Victoria (13), Noami Santos Lamb (12) and Shirley Ferrer Fontanez (11) were the best Puerto Ricans in attack while Sulian Matienzo scored 10 points for Cuba.
In Pool C after the victory of Brazil, Colombia were the next winner in the pool. They defeated Argentina after amazing five sets (25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 18-25, 17-15) although they led 2-0 in sets. Amanda Coneo had 20 points to lead Colombian players while Elina Rodriguez finished with 16 points for the defeated.
