WC M: Japanese powerful trio defeated Australia!

The national team of Japan scored the second win at the World Cup after beating Australia in four sets 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 25-27, 25-18).

Japanese team opened match much better than the rival. In front of home crowd, Ishikawa & co. smashed Australia in the first set. Their defense were magnificent, Edgar couldn’t do anything except to prepare himself for the second set.

But, home team continued with a good display and increased the lead 2:0.

In the third set, Japan were leading all the time, dominated and were close to take the win. But, at the result 22:16 for Japan, away side suddenly started playing very well and managed to decrease the score 23:21! Then, home team had three match points, Australia managed to tie the score and later Edgar gave Australian fans something to cheer up, 2:1!

Japan again dominated in the fourth set, but this time they kept the lead and scored new win at the World Cup!

Top scorers: Shimizu 22, Ishikawa 19, Yanagida 19 – Edgar 19, Mote 11.
