The FIVB Women’s Club World Championship 2016 will be held in Manila from 18-23 October, and many of the world’s best volleyball players will be there, fighting for the prestigious award.

We are about to name the main stars of each team…

Zhu Ting (VakifBank)

Young Chinese star won the Olympic gold last summer, while then she went to Turkey to start her first ever foreign campaign. Zhu Ting signed with VakifBank and she should be one of the main players of the Istanbul powerhouse in the upcoming season.

Tatiana Kosheleva (Eczacibasi VitrA)

After many years playing in Russia, Tatiana Kosheleva decided to try herself abroad for the first time in her career, so she accepted the call from the Istanbul Dream Team. Eczacibasi Vitra indeed created a powerful roster for the 2016/17 season, and Kosheleva should be one of the leading players in the team.

Thaisa Daher (Eczacibasi VitrA)

Speaking about the Dream Team from Istanbul, here comes another new name in the Orange squad. Thaisa Daher made the decision to leave her country last summer and to accept the tempting offer from Eczacibasi Vitra. Like in the case of Tatiana Kosheleva, this will also be the very first foreign campaign for Thaisa Daher, as she spent her entire volleyball career in Brazil.

Gizem Karadayi (Volero Zurich)

One of the best libero players in the world left Turkey to join the ambitious project of Volero Zurich. With her on court, the Swiss powerhouse will have a very strong defense, while the Turkish star will also bring much valuable experience to the team.

Foluke Akinradewo (Volero Zurich)

The American middle blocker is one of those players that every volleyball coach would like to have in the team. She is excellent both in defense and in offense, and she is a born winner, which makes Foluke Akinradewo a very important person of the upcoming Club World Championship.

Gabriela Braga Guimaraes (Rexona-Sesc)

She is considered to be one of the best young players of Brazil. Gabi is 22 years old, but she has already gained a lot of experience by playing for Rexona-Sesc. Most importantly, she is used to winning, as her team has been dominating the domestic championship over the last several years, so do not be surprised if Gabi shines in Manila.

Jovana Stevanović (Pomi Casalmaggiore)

Everyone in Europe still remember the last season’s CEV Champions League Final Four when the whole gym in Montichiari was chanting her name. Jovana Stevanović was just superb on that tournament and she helped Pomi to make history by winning the European crown.

The club made quite an effort during the last summer to keep the Serbian star in the team, and now they will together attack another major trophy.

Miyu Nagaoka (Hisamitsu Springs)

The famous Japanese player will lead Hisamitsu Springs at the upcoming FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in Manila. Being a left-handed spiker, Nagaoka is very difficult to stop in attack, and she will definitely be one of the main offensive powers of the Springs.

Pleumjit Thinkaow (Bangkok Glass)

Legendary Thai volleyball player is ready for another big challenge in her career. Her team Bangkok Glass will be making their debut appearance at the FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship, while Pleumjit Thinkaow will be the leader of the Thai squad in Manila.

Ekterina Krivets (PSL-F2 Logistics Manila)

Certinly the biggest name in the squad of PSL-F2 Logistics Manila. Eakterina Krivets participated at the previous edition of the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship, when she won the silver with Dinamo Krasnodar. Now, she will try to bring that experience into her new team and to help the hosts play an important role at the upcoming competition.
