The World League title holder needed a three-set or four-set victory while Poland could satisfy even with a five-set loss.

Nevertheless, Polish national team didn’t want to disappoint home crowd – Mateusz Bieniek and Michał Kubiak were the creators of a Polish comeback for their sixth title on a traditional friendly tournament – 3-2 (25-27, 19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 15-13).

Japan marked their debut at the “Memorial” with another win, second in the tournament. After beating France, Japanese team overpowered other favorite – Iran.

Japan threw their Asian rivals on the knees without dropping a single set 3-0 (33-31, 25-21, 25-20). It was a remarkable battle in the first set that obviously determined the rest of the match.

Kunihiro Shimizu scored 14 in the winning team. Milad Ebadipour and Amir Ghafour scored 15 each in Iran.
