A 31-year-old middle blocker Uribe was suspended for a year of playing in the tournaments under the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) after being tested positive for doping during the Rio Olympic Qualifier in Japan, in May 2016.

But, since the FIVB never sanctioned her, she was only suspended from playing until she proves there are no more illegal substances in her body. After performing several controls with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) through the National Anti-Doping Commission in Peru, Uribe got the green light to return to the floor and will soon make her debut for Deportivo Jaamsa in the Peruvian Women’s volleyball LNSV (Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol).
