Players and staff of Serbian NT were travelling from Belgrade to Tehran over Istanbul for the Week 3 of the FIVB World League – Group 1 in Iran (July 1-3) and landed just as the commotion, caused by terrorist attack at the airport, has started. Due to their safety, they remained in the plane for a while and were told to spend the night in Istanbul since all flights from “Atatürk” airport have been canceled.

This was not first discomfort of Serbia’s NT on its journey to Tehran since its flight from Belgrade on Monday afternoon has been delayed due to bad weather in Belgrade.

Two explosions shook “Ataturk” airport tonight in which at least 28 people were killed and 60 wounded, according to Turkish media. Police fired shots in order to neutralize suspects.
