USA’s Taryn Kloth/Kristen Nuss and Sweden’s David Åhman/Jonatan Hellvig clinched gold at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Espinho Elite16, securing a important win ahead of the Paris Olympics.
In Espinho, Portugal, Kloth and Nuss won their first gold of 2024, defeating Nina Brunner and Tanja Hüberli 2-1 after a dramatic comeback. Dutch duo Raisa Schoon and Katja Stam secured bronze.
On the men’s side, Åhman and Hellvig dominated the final, beating Germans Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler 2-0. The Swedish pair, currently atop the FIVB World Rankings, celebrated their eighth Beach Pro Tour gold.
The tour now moves to Stare Jablonki, Poland, followed by Ostrava, Czechia, concluding the Olympic qualification period.
