Cuba’s Noslen Diaz and Jorge Alayo claimed their first Elite-level Beach Pro Tour gold in Quintana Roo, Mexico. The duo defeated Argentina’s Capogrosso brothers 2-0 (21-13, 24-22) in Sunday’s final, capping an unbeaten run.
“This win in Mexico feels like home,” said Diaz. The pair had previously reached finals in Challenge events but struck gold for the first time on the Elite stage.
Americans Schalk and Shaw took bronze, beating the Dutch duo Brouwer and van de Velde. The next Elite event is set for April 9–13 in Saquarema, Brazil.
