MONTREUX MASTERS 2019: Poland and Japan run over their rivals in semis

Poland and Japan will face each other in the final of the 2019 Montreux Volley Masters in Switzerland, a traditional international season opener for the Women’s Volleyball national teams.

Poland swept Thailand away in the semifinal, leaving rivals at single digits in the second set: 3-0 (25-18, 25-9-25-23). Malwina Smarzek top-scored for the winning side with 21 points, while Klaudia Alagierska set up 5 kill blocks. In the Thai national team, neither of the players reached double digits.

Japan ran over Montreux defending champs Italy in straight-sets with 19 points from Yuki Ishii. Elena Pietrini noted 11 points for the „Azzurri“.

2019 Montreux Volley Masters – semifinals:

Poland – Thailand 3-0 (25-18, 25-9-25-23)

Italy – Japan 0-3 (21-25, 14-25, 16-25)
