He left a big trail in the German side BR Volleys, winning many trophies and medals in domestic and European competitions. Also, he was a member of the Australian National team for many years.
This is his message:
“Friends and family already know but I thought I’d make this IG official. I’m retiring from playing professional volleyball.
I am thankful to have played the sport I love for such a long time, my heart and mind are good to play for another 20 years but unfortunately, my body gave the sport every last jump it could.
I’m forever grateful to my family, friends, coaches, teammates, fans, national team and club teams throughout my career.
Thank you volleyball, you gave me the opportunity to experience different cultures and create friendships that will last a lifetime.
It’s an honour to get to coach for Pepperdine and Australia. I’m ready for the challenges to come!”
So, Paul Carroll is staying in volleyball and we are pretty much sure that he will have a huge contribution as a coach.
