Luxembourg/Istanbul, January 26, 2012. With the very last stage of the Olympic qualification process coming up in some three months, the CEV is proud to announce that all TV rights associated to the tournaments taking place in Ankara (women, May 1-6) and Sofia (men, May 8-13) will be marketed by Saran Media, the Turkish-based company that was already responsible for the distribution of rights related to the various pre-qualification tournaments that were completed this past November.

“Some months ago we were able to finalize an agreement, which is specifically devoted to the qualification process to the 2012 Olympics, with a strong and dynamic partner based in Turkey thereby confirming the always increasing appeal of all major Volleyball competitions” says CEV President André Meyer.

It was our common wish to provide TV broadcasters from all over Europe and possibly also from other Continents with a professional, tailor-made service and assistance that brought us together. We all know that the last phase of the Olympic qualification process is going to draw very much attention from the media as well as from the whole Volleyball community, so with this partnership we are confident that we will be delivering a great product to all those who are about to follow their heroes and heroines embarking on their quest to make it to the Olympic arena”.

Commenting on the cooperation with the CEV, Mr. Kenan A. Saran, Managing Director of Saran Media, says: “We are pleased and proud to be working with the CEV for the international distribution of the TV rights associated to the men’s and women’s Olympic qualifiers. I feel that this unique partnership will provide strong commercial and strategic benefits to both parties”.

Saran Media will be responsible for the sale of all TV rights associated to the above events slated for early May while another CEV partner, the sportsman media group, will be marketing the Internet rights thereby extending a fruitful cooperation that has already covered other competitions organized under the umbrella of the European Volleyball Confederation.
